Sandy's Rocket is the 16th episode of the Nickelodeon series, Spongebob Squarepants. The episode begins with Spongebob arriving at Sandy's House. Suddenly, a huge rocket pops out of the ground near Sandy's house.

Sandy peeks out the window of the rocket.

As Spongebob marvels at the contraption, Sandy peeps out a window telling him to meet her downstairs so she could show him around. She tells him that she is going to the moon, and he immediately asks her if he can go. Sandy tells him no, and recalls his misadventures with her whirlybird. After telling him that their wasn't enough room for him anyways, he tries many ways to fit in small spaces including a drawer, a test tube, and an air vent, all being declined by Sandy that tells him that this is not for fun and game, but for science. After begging several more times, Sandy finally allows him to ride in the cargo unit on the condition that he didn't touch anything. Outside, Sandy shows Spongebob a net-deplorer for harvesting moon rocks. Spongebob thinks the device should be used for capturing aliens, which Sandy knows aren't on the moon through a previous trip, but Spongebob explains the signs of aliens including: politics, Atlantis, ninety-nine cent stores, and kelp circles. Then, Sandy tells Spongebob to go home, get some rest, come back at the crack of dawn, and leave his crazy alien notations behind. During the middle of the night, Patrick suddenly appears outside Spongebob's window prompting Spongebob to ask him why he is there. Patrick gives Spongebob a can of alien repellent to protect the rocket.

Spongebob and Patrick getting ready to enter the rocket.

Afterwards, they go back to Sandy's rocket to spray the windows. Patrick wonders how to get inside, to the objection of Spongebob whom attempts to remind him of the plan. Inside, Patrick begins touching several devices. Suddenly, Spongebob starts the rocket waking Sandy up. The rocket blasts off and is seen flying up out of the water. Spongebob exclaims that they were in space and the two begin to float around doing various activities while the rocket circles the moon many times. Finally, the rocket begins to go back down into Bikini Bottom, causing the gravity to increase and a large weight to fall on Spongebob. Meanwhile, Sandy flies up to the moon, not knowing that they have already returned back to Bikini Bottom.

Spongebob and Patrick crash land on their street.

Spongebob and Patrick crash land on their own street, and get out of the rocket from the rear in space suits. They see Gary whom they think is an alien. Patrick says that Sandy would be proud. Spongebob says that he forgot about her, that she'll kill him for stealing the rocket, but be proud because he captured an alien. They throw Gary into the back of the rocket, and proceed to go into Squidward's House. After Squidward's suction cups stick to Spongebob and Patrick's suits, they frantically try to remove them, waking Squidward up. Next, they capture Squidward as Mr. Krabs and his pet worm happen to walk down the street. They point their devices at him, as he pleads for them not to take his money and captures him. They toss both of them into the rocket. Next, they go to Mrs. Puff's Boating School, where she is grading several papers, and quickly apprehend her too. After capturing many other citizens of Bikini Bottoms including Larry the Lobster and Flatts the Flounder, they are seen trying to fit as many "aliens" as they can into the rocket. Just then, Sandy returns, and scolds them for their wrong doings, but they capture her too. She desperately tries to explain that they are in Bikini Bottom to no avail before being thrown into the rocket too.

Spongebob attempts to shoot "alien Patrick".

Then, Spongebob confronts Patrick telling him that he is an alien and tries to load another net, before Patrick captures himself. Finally, Spongebob pilots the rocket until it crashes lands on the moon, and instantly realizes that he was in Bikini Bottom the entire time, prompting the "aliens" to want to have a word with him to end the episode.
