Squeaky Boots is the 17th episode of the hit series, Spongebob Squarepants. The episodes begins with Mr. Krabs throwing his daughter Pearl a birthday party. After dancing a short jig, he allows Pearl to open her presents. Pearl states she wanted the new flipper slippers that her friends were wearing causing Mr. Krabs to nervously say that it might be. Pearl opens up the gift to find a pair of old boots. Pearl is laughed at by her friends and screams in disappointment. Later, Krabs ponders what to do with the boots in his office at the Krusty Krab. Spongebob walks in to Krabs' office requesting his paycheck. Mr. Krabs excitedly shows Spongebob the boots, telling him that a famous fry cook had once worn them making them one of Krabs most prized possessions. Spongebob makes Krabs an offer on the boots giving him his paycheck, a free painting of the Krusty Krab, and a years supply of french fry oil. Krabs immediately accepts, and gives Spongebob the boots. Then, Squidward is seen cleaning a glass, and is disturbed by the squeaking of Spongebob's boot. Spongebob preforms a variety of "tricks" with the boots causing Squidward to say that the squeaking would drive everyone crazy. Krabs appears and states that the squeaky was "music" to his ears. Afterwards, Mr. Krabs appears in his bed dreaming about his money, when his dream is suddenly interrupted by the squeaking of the boots. Mr. Krabs wakes up, fluffs his pillow, and quickly goes back to dreaming about his money. Once again, the dream is suddenly interrupted by the squeaking boots. Krabs awakes again and discovers that his window is opening and closing. He closes the window, but it reopens. He tries to shut it again, but steps in a hole in his floor and is thrown outside the window. He walks back up to his room, and carefully walks up to the window. He angrily fights with the window, trying to get it to close, and finally gets it to close. He walks back to his bed, steps in another hole, is thrown into his hammock bed, and twisted many times as the window reopens. The next morning, Mr. Krabs is shown walking to the Krusty Krab with bandaged legs. Mr. Krabs is met by an anger Squidward, who states he can't take the "world's greatest fry cook anymore", and takes his vacation. Mr. Krabs walks into the Krusty Krab wondering what the problem could be. Spongebob does some tricks for him asking him if the greatest fry-cook could do them. The squeaky boots cause Krabs to dash for his office, trying to block to the squeak. That night, Spongebob is seen at his house preparing to go to bed with the boots still on. He tells Gary that he'd never take off the boots and quickly goes to sleep. Mr. Krabs is seen on Spongebob's diving board just above the bed. Mr. Krabs climbs down from the diving board, quickly and quietly steals the boots, and heads for the Krusty Krab. The next morning, Mr. Krabs is seen peacefully looking at his money when a sad Spongebob walks in. Spongebob expresses his disappointment in loosing the boots, telling Krabs it was his fault. Mr. Krabs tries to comfort Spongebob, but isn't successful and Spongebob heads sobbing into the kitchen. Mr. Krabs is then startled by a customer. He takes the customer's order, but the customer orders a squeak. A surprised Mr. Krabs makes sure he heard the customer correctly, and asks him for his order again. Once again, the customer orders a squeak. An sobbing Spongebob's peers out of the kitchen window saying that he had heard his order of squeak. The customer continues his order wanting more squeak. Mr. Krabs quickly goes crazy imagining things, seeing the clock with squeak, the entire Galley Grub in squeak, the continuing of Spongebob and the customer saying squeak, and the sink dripping squeakily. The guilt overcomes Krabs, and he shouts for it to stop, and he admits that he took the boots. Mr. Krabs crazily says that he buried the boots under the floorboard, lifts up the entire Krusty Krabs, finds the boots, dumps them in french fry oil, and eats them. Mr. Krabs happily walks out of the kitchen and greets a curious Spongebob. Spongebob asks Mr. Krabs why he had ate the boots. Mr. Krabs tells him that he didn't need them and that it was not the boots but the person wearing the boots. He tells him that he is a great fry-cook and finally gives him his paycheck. He temporarily gives Spongebob a bonus, but quickly realizes and takes it back. Finally, Mr. Krabs takes a relaxing vacation with his daughter Pearl, whom has gotten the new flipper slippers, but gets the hiccups, which sound like the boots.

Spongebob: "I'm ready! I'm ready! I want those boots!

I'm sorry but I can't take the infernal squeaking no more! (Mr. Krabs lifts up the Krusty Krabs, finds the boots, takes them into the kitchen, dumps them in french-fry oil, and eats them) (he walks back out relaxed and burps) The deed is done!"
Spongebob: "Uh, why did you eat my boots, Mr. Krabs?"
Mr. Krabs: "Because lad, you didn't need them. Its not the boots, its the boot-ee. I mean, the person in the boots. Your a great fry-cook!"
Spongebob: "You really think so Mr. Krabs?"
Mr. Krabs: "I do son. Here's your paycheck I owe ya. Plus, a bonus! (quickly realizes and takes the bonus away) Well, there's your paycheck anyway. (Begins to walk away) I need a vacation!"
